Healthcare IT support
Every appointment, clinical note, referral, prescription and telehealth call depends on technology. When a login fails at the front desk or a consult room computer freezes, patients wait and clinicians fall behind.
Elscomm provides healthcare and medical IT support, and managed IT services, for clinics and practices across Sydney. One local team looks after your devices, network, Microsoft 365 and security, supports the systems around your clinical and practice management software, and deals with your software vendors so your staff stay with patients. Our business address is Level 25, 100 Mount Street, North Sydney NSW 2060.

What healthcare providers need
Healthcare IT works differently from ordinary office IT. We plan around these pressures.
The pressures we plan around
Systems we support
We support the devices, network, accounts and Microsoft 365 around your clinical and practice management software, and work with your software vendor when an issue sits on their side.
Tell us which clinical and practice software you use at your free assessment, and we will check how we support it.
Security and compliance
Health information is among the most sensitive data a business holds, and a Sydney clinic answers to more than one law for it. We put practical controls behind each of these:
Private sector health service providers holding health information are covered whatever their turnover.
It applies to private sector organisations providing a health service or collecting, holding or using health information. Health information must be stored securely, kept no longer than necessary and disposed of appropriately, with reasonable safeguards against loss, unauthorised access, use, modification or disclosure. Private health service providers must also keep records for set periods: seven years after the last service for an adult, and until age 25 for information collected while the patient was under 18.
The security and access policy every registered organisation needs is set out in Rule 21 of the My Health Records Rules 2026. The policy must cover physical, information and cyber security measures, including user account management, timely software updates and security patches, data encryption and regular backups.
Since 30 May 2025, businesses with annual turnover of $3 million or more must report a ransomware payment to the Australian Signals Directorate within 72 hours.

FAQs
Straight answers to what Sydney clinics and practices ask about IT support and cyber security.
A responsive help desk, managed and secured devices, reliable networks and Wi-Fi, Microsoft 365 management, support around clinical and practice management software, and backups you restore from with confidence. Elscomm provides this for Sydney clinics and practices of 15 to 70 staff through one local team.
Yes. We support the devices, network, accounts and Microsoft 365 around your clinical and practice management software, and work with your software vendor when an issue sits on their side.
Managed IT for healthcare providers is usually priced per user or per device each month, based on what is included: help desk, onsite support, security and backup. We quote a fixed monthly price after a free IT assessment, with every extra listed in writing.
Generally, yes. Private sector organisations providing a health service and holding health information are covered by the Privacy Act whatever their annual turnover, so the Australian Privacy Principles and the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme apply. In NSW, the Health Records and Information Privacy Act 2002 applies as well.
Yes, if your organisation is registered with My Health Record. Your organisation may have registered when it registered with the Healthcare Identifiers Service or for electronic prescribing, so check before assuming it doesn't apply. The policy must be reviewed at least annually, and a copy provided within 7 days if the Australian Digital Health Agency asks for it. We supply the IT side: account management, patching, encryption, backups and the records proving them.
We put multi-factor authentication on accounts, control access by role, encrypt and manage devices, harden Microsoft 365, monitor for threats 24/7 and run separate, restore-tested backups.
Under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme, you must notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner when a breach is likely to cause serious harm. If the breach touches My Health Record, you must also notify the Australian Digital Health Agency as soon as possible, even if the breach has already been resolved. We help you contain the incident, work out what was accessed and gather the facts you need to report. This is general information, not legal advice.
Under the NSW Health Records and Information Privacy Act, private health service providers keep records of an adult for seven years after the last service, and records collected while a patient was under 18 until the patient turns 25. Your backups and archives need to cover the same period.
Yes. We set up reliable video consults and secure remote access, with multi-factor authentication and managed devices.
Yes. We set up every site the same way, with consistent security, networks and support, so staff move between clinics without problems.
Our help desk runs Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, and security monitoring runs 24/7. We schedule planned changes outside clinic hours where possible.
Start with a free IT assessment. We then handle the handover with your current provider, including admin access, documentation and licences, and take over support on an agreed date.
